Cait's Next Big Thing!

The wonderful and talented Cathie Dunn has tagged me for The Next Big Thing (drum roll please :) )

What is the title of your next book?
The Tango Champion

Where did the idea for the book come from?
Like most of my stories, it was inspired by places I've travelled to. I had loved Argentina when I visited it, thought it was a country that needed writing about. Having said that, all parts written about the Aconcagua National Park have now been taken out and the story of Ava and Matthias is firmly set in London. (At least I kept Matthias, I guess!). I also pretty much love dancing so combine that with love and sex and hey presto, the words just fell out (I wish).

What genre does your book fall under?
Contemporary Romance

What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a movie rendition?
Very tough one. I think Javier Bardem would have to be Matthias and Charlize Theron for Ava.

What is the one sentence synopsis for the book?
Going to get the one he loves.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Who knows!

How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?
I went back and forth from this story for a while so I'd have to estimate, think it was about 4 months.

What other books would you compare this story to?
Oooh tough one...I don't know!

Next, I'd like to tag author of Melinda Heads West and Pieces of her Mind (admit it, it sounds fascinating!)  Robyn Corum I'm looking forward to hearing your answers, Robyn!

Thanks for reading and if you would like to be tagged for The Next Big Thing, do let me know. Have a fabulous Saturday.

  3. Sounds like a great story Cait. There's nothing more romantic than dancing unless it's in the tropics!

  5. Your book sounds fascinating, Cait. From Aregntina to London. Why did you take out the argentinian components?

    1. Hey Calisa, I took it out because I started the story in the wrong place :( but I've kept those 3 chapters and will incorporate them elsewhere methinks!

  6. Well, Well!
First may I say I really like your place here, Cait! ! It's very homey and inviting. Love it!
Secondly, how cool to travel. And dancing is something I like to do. Not that I'm any good at it. LOL at least that's what my kids say. But it does sound very romantic.
Looking forward to the read, and coming back to visit.
